Neurotic near-genius Alice tries not to care, but an encounter with the rich Pablo and his daughter, a real genius, challenge her apathy. She's a Killer is a great read if you enjoyed Birnham Wood; it's interested in similar questions about activism and authenticity, with a speedy pace, but a unique setting, characters, and outlook.
